I loved reading this book! The reader is pulled in by the end of the first chapter, and the twists and turns just keep coming.

Their daughter brings a knife to school to protect herself. She picks at her food. She doesn't say much at dinner. Her grades are slipping. She's afraid. She does not feel safe. It's impossible to keep the news blocked out of the house. It's THE lead story. The press is everywhere.A new detective has been assigned to the case. A special tip line has been set up. A tipster leads them to an abandoned church. It's the place where Lindsay & Naomi were kept alive & tortured, before they were killed. On the wall, hidden in a corner, it looks like someone who was held captive tried to leave a message in blood. There are 3 additional bodies buried in the basement. Like the others, they've been strangled & tortured and their fingerprints have been removed. The victims are identified through dental records. The DNA evidence, found all over the handcuffs & chains in the church basement, is tested at the FBI lab in Quantico. Will they catch this serial killer who has been preying on young women???!!!
If you like the premise of a murdering couple, don't read further and just read this book! It's a very dark tale, beautifully written with the horror not confined to terrible deeds, but also to people's attitudes and perspectives on lives. I'm always looking for thrillers with a twist that makes them stand out in the overcrowded thriller genre and this book certainly delivers! I will remember this story for a long time and can't wait to read the next story that this author comes up with.
Stellar debut. I read *a lot* of thrillers. This is the best** since last year’s Something in the Water. Great story, engaging characters, excellent pacing—and truly scary. Can’t wait for her next book.** (Worst was The Other Woman)
I found that 3/4 of the book dragged on but I couldn’t put the book down towards the end. The end gave me nightmares. Too crazy for words.
Great story that kept me turning the pages.I would read more by, and recommend, this author.
